CMA Course Conditions

ICWAI offers this course called CWA (Certified Management Accountant); earlier this course was known as ICWA. There is no difference between the two. The name of ICWAI (Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India) has been changed to ICAI (Institute of Cost Accountants of India).

Alike CA and CS
This course shares some of the common aspects with CA and CS. For instance, the duration of this course is also not fixed just like CA and CS. It depends on the candidate, how much time he/she takes in completing this course; though it can be completed in 2-3 years. Those who wish to become Cost Management Accountant, generally opt for this course. Alongside BCom, most of the students at the Best B.Com Colleges in Rajasthan take up either CA, CS or CMA.

CMA Course
CMA course is divided into three levels which are as follows-

•    Foundation (6 months)
•    Intermediate (12 months)
•    Final (36 months)

Those who have completed 10+2 are eligible for the first step i.e. Foundation level. But you must have cleared Higher Secondary from a recognized board.

The exam for Foundation level is conducted four times in a year- March, June, September, December. After clearing Foundation, you will be eligible for next level. Those who possess a graduation degree already, they are exempted from the Foundation level examination. Then you enter the program at stage second i.e. Intermediate.

If you wish to join Intermediate Course during graduation, then you will be only provisionally admitted to the course. To get to the status of Regular from provisional, you will be considered only after completing graduation.

Technically, the students are allowed to appear for Intermediate Course only after completing Bachelor’s degree from any of the Commerce Colleges in India.
